Milwood Little League not only celebrated its history on Saturday, June 15th during the first-ever Alumni Game; the league also honored its retiring President. This September after 12 years of service, league President Kim Feenstra as well as her husband, Bill Feenstra will be stepping down from the Milwood Little League Board.

Before they say good-bye, the league board paid homage to their long-time dedication by renaming the Wilson Field Press Box, the Feenstra Press Box. Besides the naming of the press box, Kim also received a plaque and a baseball themed clock.

Over the past 12 years, the Feenstra's footprint has been made at Milwood. Bill has served as a baseball and softball coach, while holding several board positions including Baseball Director and most recently, Safety Director.

With Kim's leadership, Milwood Little League's enrollment has stayed steady. Besides overseeing the daily operations of the league, she also in the league's point person to our bingo fundraiser at Bank Street Bingo, which the league runs on Saturday nights.

The two have spent many of thankless nights at the fields, including the last several years when they didn't even have any kids participating at Milwood.

Under her tutelage, the league has made many renovations over the years, including the redesign of Wilson Field and Gazley Field's that include state-of-the-art scoreboards. Without question, her biggest accomplishment has been getting Milwood Little League and District 2 as the host site of the 50/70 Central Regional. The tournament not only brings in the best teams from the Midwest, it also gives District 2 an automatic berth in the tournament. The biggest impact of the tournament is the thousands of dollars in generates each year in tourism to our community.

Thank you for the past 12 years Kim and Bill, you will truly be missed.
